Application:
Water Temperature Sensor U5MK1089 / U5MK1091 is engineered for the Perkins 1104D-E44T, 1104D-E44TA and 1106D-E66TA turbocharged diesel engines (4.4 L and 6.6 L respectively). These power units are installed in a wide array of agricultural tractors (Massey Ferguson 5700 SL/SL S, 6700 S and 7700 S series), combine harvesters (MF IDEAL 7/8/9), high-output generator sets up to 250 kVA, wheeled and crawler excavators from 7- to 14-ton class, plus material-handling telehandlers and irrigation pumps used in both broad-acre and horticultural operations.
Technical specifications:
Thread interface M14 × 1.5 parallel with 19 mm hex and 12 mm reach for direct drop-in fit to the thermostat housing or cylinder head coolant gallery. Temperature range –40 °C to +140 °C with 5 Vdc supply and NTC thermistor output curve calibrated 2 500 Ω @ 20 °C, 320 Ω @ 80 °C, 120 Ω @ 110 °C, tolerance ±2 %.
Material & performance features:
Probe body turned from 1.4571 (AISI 316Ti) stainless steel for full resistance to glycol, amine-containing coolants and stray galvanic currents; brass sealing washer and fluorosilicone O-ring prevent micro-leakage up to 3 bar system pressure. Electronics encapsulated in high-temperature epoxy potting compound, vibration-tested 50 g at 20–2 000 Hz, thermal shock 1 000 cycles –40 °C↔+150 °C, salt-spray 96 h per ASTM B117.
